Day 2: Dinner

Hoki Fish in a cream and spring onion sauce, sweet potato, carrots, swiss chard and spinach.

All of the veg were steamed and carrots are quite possibly my favourite veg ever!  Not as keen on spinach when it has been steamed when compared to its crisp texture and stronger taste when eaten raw in a salad.

I hadn't heard of the Hoki fish before; we had just picked it up today from the local health food store.  It was a relatively cheap fish and had a sustainable fishing stamp on it.  Having just looked it up I have found out it is also known as blue hake or blue grenadier.  It is most commonly fished around New Zealand and it, like many fish, has had its controversy with regards to how sustainable the species is being fished.  Was surprised to find out that it is commonly used as a generic white fish in many restaurants, including McDonald's with their Fillet'o'Fish.

I would love to hear your thoughts, suggestions and questions so please feel free to comment. Constructive criticism is welcomed, but if you're rude, offensive or a downright pain in the arse to myself or others, you can expect your comment to be a goner!

Also, please comment under your own name, not that of a business/organisation, and don't link to your own site in the comment text. It's not good manners, smacks a bit of spamming and will be gone before you know it.

Other than that, have fun, interact and hopefully between us we can create something worthwhile that will help to improve some lives along the way.....
